Day 2, City tour of Budweis and Hluboká nad Vlatou Castle
In the morning you will join a guided city tour of Budweis which has much more to offer than the world-famous beer. Especially worth seeing is the main square: Residential houses from the 13th to the 19th century connected by arcades, lined up like pearls around the square. It’s also a must to visit the Town Hall, Samson Fountain, the Black Tower and St. Nicholas Cathedral.
Free lunch break in one of the local restaurants.
In the afternoon proceed to Hluboká nad Vlatou (Frauenberg), the fairy-tale castle in gingerbread style whose model is Windsor Castle. About 40 of the 140 splendidly equipped rooms can be visited. Return to Budweis for dinner and overnight.
Day 3, Cesky Krumlov
Today you will visit one of the most beautiful cities in Europe: Cesky Krumlov - Bohemian Krumlov. The Old Town with its narrow streets is an unique historical monument.Time at leisure.
Possibility to visit the high located Krumau Castle, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, walk on the city streets or visit the Egon Schiele Museum.
Return to Budweis. Dinner in the hotel followed by brass music and dance.
Day 4, Prachatice - Rabi Castle - Pilsen
Morning excursion to Pilsen. On the way you pass beautiful places such as
Prachatice, Holasovice (UNESCO), Kaltovy and Rabi. Here you will visit the largest castle ruins and the oldest fortress of the Czech Republic. The best preserved part of the building is the Gothic cellar which is a prime example of architecture of that time.
Arrival in Pilsen, dinner and overnight.
Day 5, Pilsen (European Capital of Culture 2015) and Pilsen brewery
In the morning you will visit Pilsen. Particularly worth seeing is the town center with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque houses. Visible from far away is the tower of St. Bartholomew's Cathedral, the highest in the Czech Republic. In the afternoon you will join a tour of the Pilsen brewery. You will visit the places inside the brewery where the famous Pilsner Urquell beer is brewed since 1842, learn about the secrets of production and see the modern bottling plant with a capacity of 120 000 bottles per hour. The highlight of this tour is a visit to the historic brewery cellars where you will taste the unfiltered and unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell directly from the oak storage barrel (only for persons over 18 years old). Dinner and overnight in your hotel.
Day 6, Karlsbad – Loket – Marienbad
Today you will discover Bohemia's famous spas Karlsbad and Marienbad.
The well-preserved historic spa facilities of Karlsbad invite you to linger and to promenade.
The city has twelve fountains, the most famous and strongest is located in the White Colonnades, it is 72 ° C hot, shoots up to 14 meters in height and has a bed of 2000 liters per minute. The next stop of this excursion is Loket. The village is located on a granite back which is surrounded on three sides by the Eger river. Goethe, in “ Over all beautiful description”, wrote about the medieval old town and the gothic castle visible from far. Loket was also the backdrop for the James Bond movie "Casino Royal". You will continue to Marienbad, the city with many worth seeing buildings such as the Great Colonnade. There are 40 spas in the town and other 100 in the surrounding area. During the tour you will learn all about their history.
Return to Pilsen for dinner and overnight.
