Day 1 – Arrival
Morning arrival at Bergamo airport
Board your local coach and transfer northwards
In the afternoon visit to the botanical gardens of Trautmannsdorff Castle near Merano (South
Tyrol). Stretching over 12 ha, the gardens contain over 80 blossoming and thriving themed gardens with plants from all over the world. Adventure stations, themed gardens, artists’ pavilions and a lake stage make these botanical gardens a true world of adventure: it is no coincidence that a few years ago the gardens were given the award “Most beautiful gardens in the world”.
Afterwards time at leisure in the Spa town of Merano
Dinner and overnight in a 3*** Hotel in Bolzano area
Day 2 – Giardino di Casa Biasi, Valeggio sul Mincio & Parco della Sigurtà
After breakfast departure to Lake Garda
On the way visit to the Garden House Biasi in Pesina-Caprino Verinese, located on the hills
around Lake Garda. The garden war originally designed by Luciana and Mario Biasi on the land
around the antique family villa in 1977. Cecila and Nico have continued and completed the project,
bringing the garden to its present state. It covers an area of 16.000 m2 and consists of a “Romantic
Park” close to the Villa and a “Mediterranean Garden” which extends east of the building.
The garden is very attractive from a landscape point of view and very rich from a botanic one: in
fact from February to November different flowers blossom one after the other and this makes the garden very interesting to all those who love gardening.
Proceed to Valeggio sul Mincio, a beautiful village built in 1400 around a series of water mills to grind corn and grow rice along the river Mincio. It offers visitors a landscape of great natural beauty. It is a seamless integration between land and river that showcases the fascinating and impressive fortifications of the old Visconti Bridge, located in defense of a strategic ford. Enjoy great views of the wheels of water mills, and the charming melody of flowing waters.
Time for lunch
In the afternoon proceed to “Parco della Sigurtà”, built in 1617 with 600 thousand square meters
of surface, a spectacular green oasis in the heart of Veneto, a few km from Lake Garda. A
succession of breathtaking views, ancient trees, beautiful blooms of roses, tulips, irises, pools of
water where you can admire various species of aquatic plants and huge perfectly groomed lawns
are just some of the many historical and natural attractions that, over the years, have allowed the
Parco Giardino Sigurtà to win important prizes and awards on an international level.
After the visit proceed to your 3*** hotel in Lake Garda area for dinner and overnight
Day 3 – Garden of Andre Heller & Isola del Garda
Morning excursion to visit the Garden of Andre Heller in Gardone Riviera, on the eastern shores of Lake Garda. The botanical garden acquired by Heller to be transformed into a center of environmental awareness hosts several works of art either donated or commissioned by the Austrian artist. “A collection of world’s region”, Andre Heller defines his garden. During the years, assisted by a climate that Heller calls "Air of Luck" he managed to transform this into a garden of Eden hosting plants from all over the world.
Time for lunch
Then proceed to the harbor of Gardone Riviera, board your boat for an excursion to
“Isola del Garda”. From March to mid-October the Borghese Cavazza family opens their home for guided tours: during this visit, which takes you through the untouched nature of the park, the beautiful Italian and English gardens, you will discover the rich history of this spectacular place that has housed many illustrious names from the Roman age to the present day. The tour includes two rooms inside the elegant neo-gothic Venetian style villa from the early 1900’s, currently still lived in by the owners.
